FX Pricing Panel

I designed a user interface for FX desk dealers to construct, skew, and distribute the bid/offer they stream to their own clients, sitting on top of aggregated liquidity from multiple banks.

Key Requirements from Operators

  1. Stripping back controls would have made the tool useless.

  2. The need was for a dense surface legible in sub-second glances.

  3. Reduction was off the table. Legibility at high density was the goal.

Styling look and feel was taken directly from the Caplin Design System. Ultimately this would be a white-labeled product

Real-time data,

A stale price is a financial risk, not a cosmetic bug. Freshness had to be unmissable the instant a quote went dead.

Expert users

Experts judge a tool by speed and reject anything added in the name of feeling "friendly" that slows them down.

Scale

Six majors on screen and many more pairs a click away. Whatever pattern I chose had to hold at full volume.

Breaking down features by joba

The dealer's job is to construct, skew, and distribute a price on top of aggregated bank liquidity, and to do it in seconds. So I designed from the jobs themselves. Each one below is something a dealer needs to do fast, answered by a control that lives right on the tile.

Search any estate, block, or flat and the page opens on what matters first — what’s due, what’s open, and which documents need attention — with the full asset register below. Every asset shows its compliance status, next date, and action at a glance.

"I want to widen my spread, lean my price, or pull a side, right on the tile"

The nudgers, skew arrows, and ON/REF/OFF toggle keep manual control of every price on the tile itself — no panel, no mode switch.

A 1–5 stepper folds spread floor, skew sensitivity, and position limits into a single control that also reads as the pair's live stance.

One dropdown swaps the sourcing logic behind the quote, so you can price for size or for tightness without touching anything else.

Leveraging AI, I revisited the tile to enhance the visual design while retaining the currently functionality.
